Styled wedding shoots are a fantastic way to explore creative themes and capture the essence of a unique wedding vision. Recently, I captured this styled shoot at the beautiful Highley Manor, a venue that combines historic charm with timeless elegance. This shoot was designed with a blend of vintage flair and non-traditional elements, making it a truly special project to work on.
Highley Manor, nestled in the heart of West Sussex, is a stunning 17th-century manor house. Its grand architecture, lush gardens, and intricate details provided the perfect backdrop for this styled shoot. The manor's vintage aesthetic complimented the shoot’s theme.
One of the unique elements of the shoot was the cake—or rather, the giant Italian-style crème berry patisserie. Moving away from the traditional tiered wedding cake, this dessert was a showstopper. This unconventional choice perfectly captured the essence of a couple unafraid to embrace their own style.
To continue the non-traditional theme, we featured a classic VW Beetle as the wedding car. It was the perfect compliment to the vintage yet quirky aesthetic we aimed to create, adding an extra layer of personality to the overall look.
While styled shoots often focus heavily on the bride, I made sure to give the groom his moment to shine. I captured a series of solo shots that highlighted his style and presence, balancing the narrative of the day. Whether he was standing against the manor’s historic brick walls or posing in the gardens, these images ensured that the groom was a key part of the story we were telling.
Styled shoots are all about the details, and this one was no exception. I focused on capturing every element—the intricate lace of the bride’s dress, the vibrant colors of the berry puff pastry, the vintage charm of the VW Beetle, and the candid, yet carefully orchestrated, moments that brought the shoot to life. These details are what make each styled shoot unique, telling a story that is as rich and layered as the design itself.
This styled wedding shoot at Highley Manor was a celebration of creativity and individuality. By blending vintage elements with modern, unconventional choices, we created a visual story that was both timeless and refreshingly unique.
It was a joy to capture this styled shoot, and I hope these images inspire couples to embrace their own unique style on their wedding day.
